Our Kitchen Design & Installation Process
At North Arch Kitchens, our approach is built around one goal - creating a kitchen that elevates the way you live. Whether you’re planning a bespoke shaker kitchen, a contemporary handleless design, or an open-plan space for family life and entertaining, every project begins with listening - understanding how you cook, gather, and use your home.Our design and installation teams work in unison, managing every stage in-house to ensure clarity, precision and peace of mind throughout your project.
Step One - Discovery Consultation
Your journey begins with a one-to-one consultation with one of our designers, either in our Muswell Hill showroom or via phone.
We’ll explore your ideas, preferences, and how you intend to use your space — cooking habits, storage needs, appliance requirements, and any architectural considerations.
If you do not have any architectural plans for us to work from, a home visit is then arranged to take detailed measurements and assess the existing layout, natural light, utilities and flow.
Our design fee is £250, fully refundable once you place your order with us.
Step Two - Presentation.
With over 30 years of combined kitchen design experience, our team specialises in creating spaces that balance aesthetics, ergonomics and practicality.You’ll be invited to our Muswell Hill design studio for a private presentation of your personalised proposal — including layout concepts, cabinetry styles, appliance selections, finishes and worktop options that bring your vision together.We refine every element in collaboration with you until the design feels exactly right.
Step Three - Site Survey
Prior to placing your kitchen furniture order, we conduct a final on-site technical survey to verify plumbing feeds, electrical capacity, ventilation requirements and any structural considerations.
This ensures full transparency and prevents unexpected issues during installation.
Following the survey, you’ll receive your final quotation - clear, accurate and guaranteed. No hidden extras.
Step Four - Installation
Installations are overseen by our dedicated Installation Manager and completed by our approved specialist teams who have worked alongside us for years.
Cabinetry, electrics, plumbing, appliances, worktops and carpentry are handled by experienced craftsmen who take pride in the quality of their work.
We protect your property throughout the project and maintain a clean working environment from start to finish.
A typical North Arch kitchen installation takes four to six weeks, depending on size, materials and appliance specification.
Step Five - Aftercare
We are truly only happy when you are – so we will visit you at a date and time that is most convenient to you, to talk through your installation and make sure everything is exactly how you dreamt it would be. Our Marketing Manager may also capture photos and video of your project for our social channels.We really appreciate and value your feedback which is why we invite all of our clients, past and present, to leave us reviews so that we can continuously make improvements to our service and stay the best at what we do

The design timeline can vary depending on the complexity of your project and your personal preferences, as we take the time needed to plan thoroughly and avoid any delays later on. Once the design is finalised, kitchen furniture production typically takes 6–10 weeks, depending on your chosen finish. The timeframe for your builder to prepare the space will depend on the scope of work involved. When the space is ready, the dry-fit installation of your kitchen usually takes around one week, depending on its size. After the worktop has been templated, your selected stone is then cut and installed within 7–10 working days.
